Okay, so I've forgotten all of my log-in info for blogger, but just wanted to mention that a UN-sponsored four year study on the global food crisis has just concluded. The resulting report calls for a departure from "business as usual". Less reliance on GM-foods and a return to sustainable and small-scale agriculture. Could this be the beginning of something? I heard about it on BBC World Service. I wonder if American Mainstream media will report on it as well.
P.S. Biotech companies pulled out of the list of contributors to the study becuase they felt their views were being ignored....brings a smile to my face.
"CSA" stands for "community supported agriculture". Members of the community pay at the start of the season for a share of the produce of a local farm. In our case, the season runs for 20 weeks, and most members come to the farm itself to pick up their share each week.
